I’ve seen this discussed at length on some blogs and forums recently. The basic theme seems to be that it’s not much better from a eco-friendly perspective since the used oil still is damaging to the environment, and has to be disposed of somehow.
Point 1 – lower foreign oil dependence
Point 2 much less oil to dispose of due to extended drain intervals.
